BIG NEWS!! Chieftain returned to the PAOBA Breedes Showcase with four offspring that took blue ribbons and TWO Championship banners! In 2009 Chieftain was the Color Champion at the PAOBA Breeders Showcase...and Judge's Choice! With a Color Champion in brown...the oldest one in the championship class...and a Reserve Champion in fawn...the youngest, Chieftain demonstrated he has color, fineness, and density covered. Did we mention he was also the Get of Sire winner...go Chieftain! Another Blue. Chieftain has a strong, square frame with soft, bright fiber everywhere. Want crimp? He has it from his top knot literally down to his knees! His dam is our finest fibered colored female and his sire is the legend-in-the-making Six time Color Champion Peruvian Lancaster. What a great match-up this was for color and fiber! Chieftain's numbers from his 2007 histogram are MOST impressive, and even more impressive is his ability to maintain those wonderful fiber stats. Chieftain has earned Blue ribbons and Banners as a juvenile, yearling, and mature male. With seventeen Blues he has been judged by just about everyone and all agree...this is one awesome male. Chieftain has proven his ability to maintain his outstanding fleece characteristics even as a breeding male. During the Spring 2009 show season, he added two Color Championships (PAOBA and MAPACA), one Reserve Color Championship (Nationals), and the Judge's Choice Award at PAOBA. Judge Mike Safley compared him to a juvenile for the Championship at MAPACA and declared him the finest in the class. What a great compliment for a three year old! This is a herdsire you will want to breed to both your dark and light colors for fineness, density, and crimp. Judges put him at the front of the line for his combination of fineness and density. Isn't that what it's all about? ADD ANOTHER BLUE IN 2011: Chieftain placed first once again at MAPACA...this time in the fleece show. No wonder. His fourth histogram was almost iden

This guy just seems to keep getting better with age. Wayfarer comes from one of the most closely held maternal lines in the foundation herd here at CCNF. His dam, Nutmeg, was part of the 1st generation of Legacy Gold kids ever born here, though more importantly Nutty was also the first born cria of our beloved Reality. The depth of quality we have continued to see out of Reality and her offspring since is really without compare. In addition to Nutmeg, we also have her younger sister, Acomani, here in our foundation herd. Nutmeg's full brother, CCNF Golden Inuendo, is a working Herdsire at Vermont Alpaca Co. Wayfarer gets it from both sides though. Being a son of of the great Royal Ring of Fire in fact makes him a card carrying member of arguably the two most powerful colored lines in our herd, though because of that he unfortunately also has only limited use to us within our foundation herd. So while he is available for purchase, we have also elected to offer him for outside stud service so that others may take advantage of his excellent genetics! Wayfarer was a standout member of the 2010, 2011, and 2012 CCNF show strings winning multiple Championship banners in that time and is now also a proven Herdsire! His first cria, CCNF Compass Rose, was born here earlier this summer and all signs point to her being the very real deal!

Admittedly, when we bred Invictus’ dam Opal with his sire, Precocious, we were hoping for something a little darker than beige. Though Precocious is a white Futurity Champion he comes from a paternal line (Jeremiah/Jericho) just as renowned for it’s colored genetics as its light, so crossing him with Opal — who is black and likewise has not one but two of those nifty Futurity trophies of her own — wasn’t really over-reaching that much. So while we were perhaps put off a bit by the lack of darker fleece color in their resulting young boy, Invictus also showed that he had IT almost immediately. So what do we see in Invictus that makes him stand out? Simply put, he hits that nexus of fleece...
